Why a personalized birthday video means so much
The birthday person is in it
Our birthday video maker puts your loved one into brand-new scenes, so the birthday video plays like their own movie, made from a few photos.
Made for one person
Their name, the things they love and your memories shape every scene. Nobody else will ever get the same birthday video.
A moment to share
Play the birthday video on the TV once everyone has arrived, or send it so it is waiting when the birthday person wakes up.
Still on time
Your birthday video is ready about 15 minutes after you send the details, so it works on the day itself and from any distance.
Birthday video ideas for everyone you love
Pick who the personalized birthday video is for to see the films that suit them best.
A birthday video for mom
Hang your favorite photos of the two of you in the Museum of Us, or let the family dog give her the award she has earned. Both make a birthday video for mom she will want to watch twice.
A birthday video for dad
Dads who wave away presents tend to watch a birthday video about themselves more than once. Tell us about the grill, the golf swing or the old car he keeps polishing, or let the dog he walks every morning hand him the award.
A birthday video for your partner
Hang six photos of your years together in the Museum of Us and raise a glass at the end, or give a song full of the little habits only you know.
A birthday video for your best friend
A song for the friend who lives for karaoke, or an award speech from the dog your friend adores. Either way, the group chat will want to know who made it.
A birthday video for your sister or brother
Put the habits you have teased your sibling about for years into a song, or hang the old family photos in a museum made for the two of you, and watch them pretend not to love it.
A birthday video for grandma or grandpa
Fill a museum with the photos the family loves most, or make a trailer about the hobbies the grandchildren always hear about, then play the birthday video on the TV when the whole family is together.
A birthday video for your child
In a birthday video made for your child, the birthday girl or boy flies over a castle on a broom, sails with pirates or meets the dinosaurs. Or your child stars in a birthday song with their own name in the chorus.
A happy birthday video from the dog
The dog, cat or rabbit takes the stage and names its owner its favorite human, in one of seven voices, from a polite gentleman to a dramatic diva. Or the pet joins its owner in an animated birthday song.
A birthday video for someone far away
When you cannot be there, a birthday video waiting in their messages says more than a quick text: a song with their name in the chorus, or your shared photos in a museum. It works across time zones and needs nothing from the birthday person.
A milestone birthday video
For an 18th, a 30th, a 50th or an 80th, the trailer saves the new age for the very last scene so the whole room can cheer, and the birthday song works it into the lyrics.

Birthday video maker questions
What is a birthday video maker?
A birthday video maker is a tool for making a video to celebrate someone's birthday. Most are editing apps where you arrange photos, text and music yourself. yume is a birthday video maker that makes the whole birthday video for you: you send a few photos and details, and the person you are celebrating stars in it.
Is yume a free birthday video maker?
No, and that is deliberate. Free birthday video makers are editing apps: you get a template and a timeline, spend multiple hours arranging photos, captions and music yourself, and the result usually still looks like a slideshow. yume's birthday video maker does all of that work for you. You add a few photos and details in a few minutes, and the birthday person stars in a cinematic film made for them alone. Each birthday video has one price, paid once, with no subscription, and a high-quality result is guaranteed.
What is the best birthday video maker if I can’t edit?
One that does the editing for you. With yume you add their name, photos and interests, and the finished birthday video arrives by email, usually about 15 minutes later. You never touch an editing app.
Can I make a birthday video with photos?
Yes, photos are all you need. In The Museum of Us, six of your photos of the two of you hang in a private museum. The Legend of You uses 2 to 4 clear photos of them, and Birthday Adventure 2 to 4 photos of your child. The Favorite Human Award needs one clear photo of the pet, and the Birthday Song one photo of the birthday person plus up to two of their favorite things.
How long is the birthday video?
Most run about a minute. The Legend of You, The Museum of Us and Birthday Adventure each run about a minute, the Favorite Human Award about 37 seconds and the Birthday Song two minutes, the length of the whole song.
Which languages can I choose?
The Favorite Human Award can be made in English, German, Spanish, French or Chinese. The Legend of You, The Museum of Us, Birthday Adventure and the Birthday Song are in English.
Can I make a happy birthday video from the dog?
Yes. The Favorite Human Award turns a clear photo of a dog, cat or other pet into a happy birthday video where the pet takes the stage and gives a speech about its favorite human.
How do I share a birthday video?
Send the link so the birthday video is waiting when they wake up, or download it and play it on the TV once everyone has arrived. Anyone with the link can watch and download it, and the birthday person does not need an account.
Does the birthday person need to do anything?
No. We send the video to you, ready to give. The person in the video does not need an account.
Can I change the video after it is made?
Yes, every order includes one free edit. Watch the video, then ask for changes from your video page, keeping the same person or pet and the same occasion.
Is a personalized birthday video a good last-minute gift?
It is one of the few personal gifts you can still order on the day. It takes a few minutes to add the details, and your birthday video is ready about 15 minutes later.
